For this project I brought some coral I got from Oahu and some sand that my friend brought me from Maui. I laid it all out on the scanner to capture the image. After it was downloaded, it edited it in photoshop to brighten some of the shadows and remove the smudges and fingerprints fromContinue reading “Scanner Photo”

Individual Portraits
I took these photos of my friend Katt. I edited them all similarly and I think the colors ended up looking nice. I thought the pose for the full body photo was cool and a little different.
Top 5 Photos
I had fun this semester and I feel like I learned a bunch of things that will help me in my art in the future. I feel much more capable than I did before, and I feel even more confident in my photoshop and editing skills than I did earlier. I had fun taking picturesContinue reading “Top 5 Photos”
Conceptual Image
I spent a long time on this, getting all the different photos that make it up and putting it together. I deviated from my plan a bit, and I still don’t love it but I think it turned out okay. I used a lot of masks and clipping masks, which helped select the flowers andContinue reading “Conceptual Image”
Fashion Poster Edit
With this image, I used the portrait and textures supplied to make a fashion poster. I went with a lot of cool colors that helped me pick what text I wanted. I also used a lot of lighten layers to get those clean silhouettes. The text and a few final levels adjustment layers came lastContinue reading “Fashion Poster Edit”
Environmental Portrait
This is my friend Katt, she does street style art, and I wanted to catch her working on something. This is her in her backyard working with a big piece of cardboard. It wasn’t super bright outside so it was a little hard to take, but minimal editing afterwards helped it out a bunch.
Critique Photo
I took this photo of my sister on a hike in St George. I had her climb up in this little crevice and pose for me. The photo is edited pretty minimally, I only fiddled with the colors and removed some kid’s head from the bottom corner.
Perspective Collage
Here I used several photos to create a collage of my mother’s old guitar. Many of them are edited just a bit, and then inserted into the collage and clipped to a rectangle to fit them all together. Below you can find a few photos I didn’t use in the collage.
Studio Portraits
Here, the photos are hardly edited. Because of the super controlled lighting we have in the studio, things turn out perfectly exposed first try. I really enjoyed working in the studio and I liked how it cut down on editing time. I would love to do this more often.
Posing People
(incomplete, will add a posed female portrait when I get the change to take it) In this photo, I removed a small child’s head in the corner using the content aware fill tool. I also removed some acne In this photo, I changed the color of my brother’s shirt from neon green to blue usingContinue reading “Posing People”
